Protection Over Precarity Committee (POP)

Launched in November 2025, the POP (Protection or Precarity) consultation and action Committee brings together im·migrants and key stakeholders to collectively reflect on and take action regarding issues of access to justice for im·migrants with precarious or no status in Quebec.

Filling a gap in discussion spaces: In Quebec, existing committees mainly focus on asylum seekers or refugees, leaving a gap for other categories of vulnerable immigrant individuals.

Intersectoral action for justice: Access to justice affects an increasingly wide range of organizations (healthcare, domestic violence support, homelessness), showing that legal rights are inseparable from other essential needs.

Why this committee ?
